What is Piratbridge?

Piratbridge is a Danish trick-taking game for 3–6 players, where each player bids exactly how many tricks they will take in the round.

Make your bid and you score points. Take too few or too many tricks and you lose points. The player with the most points after the last round wins.

How do I play with friends?

Create a game under Multiplayer and send the invite link to your friends, or invite the people you're friends with on the site.

Your friends can also type in the lobby's 6-character code. Multiplayer counts in your stats, but not in your rank.

What is Ranked?

In Ranked you play online for rank points. Your placing in the game moves your rank, and you can climb towards the top of the leaderboards.

How do you score points in Piratbridge?

Make a bid of 1 or more tricks and you get 10 points plus 1 point per trick.

Bid 0 and take 0 tricks and you get 5 points. Miss your bid and you lose 1 point for every trick you're off, whether too few or too many.

How many rounds are there?

There are twice as many rounds as cards dealt in the first round. With 8 cards there are 16 rounds.

The number of cards drops by one each round down to 1, the 1-card round is played twice, and then it climbs back up to the start.

How is trump decided?

After each deal, the top card of the remaining deck is turned over, and its suit is trump for the round.

The highest trump wins the trick. If there is no trump in the trick, the highest card in the suit that started wins.

Do you have to follow suit?

Yes, if you have a card in the suit that started the trick, you must play that suit.

If you have no cards in that suit, you may play any card, including trump.

What is a one-card round?

In the two rounds with only 1 card, you see everyone else's card, but not your own.

You bid 0 or 1 based on what you can see, and then the trick is settled right away.

What do fight for the tricks and creeper mean?

When everyone has bid, the total of the bids is compared with the number of tricks in the round.

If the total is higher, it's a fight for the tricks. If it's lower, it's a creeper. Either way, at least one player has to miss their bid.

How old do I have to be?

You must be at least 15 years old to sign up for Piratbridge.

Who is behind Piratbridge?

Piratbridge was made by Oliver, who learned the game from a partner's family. You can write to hello@piratbridge.dk.
