Privacy policy
Here you can read how Piratbridge processes personal data about you when you use piratbridge.dk.
This is a translation of our Danish privacy policy ("Privatlivspolitik", shown when the site is set to Danish). Both say the same; if they ever differ, the Danish text applies.

If you have questions about how we process your personal data, you can write to us.
02What we process and why
When you visit the site. Our suppliers record your IP address, your browser and the time in log files, and Cloudflare checks details about your browser to tell people apart from automated attacks. We count attempts to log in, check a username or get a new password, so nobody can guess passwords or send lots of emails. We do this using an encrypted code, not your actual IP address, username or email. The purpose is a secure and stable site, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in exactly that (Article 6(1)(f)).
Your account and your games. We process your email, your username, your avatar and your password (stored encrypted, so we can't see it), and whether you have seen the welcome for new players. If you log in with Google, we get your email, your name and your profile picture from there. When you log in, Supabase stores your IP address and your browser with your login. When you play online, we store your results, rank points and trophies, the lobbies and tournaments you take part in, your friends and friend requests, notifications to you on the site about requests and invitations, and which set phrases you send in quick chat. This is necessary to provide the game you have asked for (Article 6(1)(b)). Without an email, username, avatar and password (or logging in with Google) you can't play online.
You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. We store when you confirmed this and accepted this policy, so we can document it (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)). If we find out that an account belongs to a child under 15, we delete it. If you log in with Google, this happens on Google's own page, where Google's privacy policy applies.
Newsletter. If you say yes to news, we store that and when, and send you news from Piratbridge by email. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a), and section 10 of the Danish Marketing Practices Act). It is voluntary, and you can withdraw it at any time with the link in every email, on your profile or by writing to us.
When you write to us. If you send feedback from the menu, we get your message, your username, which page you were on, and whether you used a phone or a computer. If you write to hello@piratbridge.dk, we get your email address, your name if it is in the email, and what you write. We use this to answer you and improve the game, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in that (Article 6(1)(f)). If you use your rights, we process your request to comply with data protection law (Article 6(1)(c)).
03Cookies
We only use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, so we don't ask for consent to cookies:
- Login cookies that keep you logged in until you log out (at most 400 days).
- Three cookies that secure a login with Google. They last 10 minutes.
- pb_lang, which remembers whether you want the site in Danish or English. It lasts one year.
- cf_clearance, which Cloudflare may set after a small security check in your browser that protects the site against automated attacks. It lasts 30 minutes.
We use no cookies or other storage in your browser for statistics, tracking or ads, and apart from Cloudflare's security check there is no code from other companies on our pages.
04How long we keep the information
- Your account, games, rank points, trophies and friends: until you delete your account (friendships and requests also when you remove them). Games you have played with others stay in their history, but your name and avatar are replaced by "Slettet spiller" ("Deleted player"), also in tournaments. If you are in the middle of a game, a computer player takes your seat.
- Login (IP address and browser): until you log out or delete your account.
- Quick chat: until the lobby is closed, and at most 1 day. Notifications on the site: at most 7 days.
- Newsletter: until you withdraw your consent or delete your account.
- Feedback: until we delete it, and at the latest when you delete your account.
- Emails to us: as long as needed to answer and follow up on your request.
- Attempt counts: at most two hours. Log files: at most 3 days at our suppliers, then they are deleted automatically.
05Who sees your information
Other players can see your username, your avatar, your rank and your results (for example on the leaderboard and in lobbies and games), and they can find you by searching for your username. Your friends can see that you are friends. No other player can see your email. We don't sell your information or pass it on to others.
These suppliers (data processors) process the information for us:
- Supabase: database and login. The information is stored on servers in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden).
- Resend: tells us when there is new feedback (without its content) and sends you a link to a new password if you ask for one.
- Cloudflare: runs the website and the domain, and forwards emails to hello@piratbridge.dk to our inbox.
- Google: our inbox (Gmail), where emails to us end up.
With Supabase, Resend and Cloudflare we have data processing agreements, so they only process the information on our instructions. With Google we have no separate agreement; Google's own terms apply.
All four are American companies and may in some cases access the information from countries outside the EU/EEA, such as the USA. For Supabase, Resend and Cloudflare this is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, found in Supabase's, Resend's and Cloudflare's data processing agreements. Resend, Cloudflare and Google are also certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has approved.
06Automated decisions and security
Your rank points and trophies are calculated automatically from your games. We make no automated decisions that have legal effects for you or affect you in a similarly significant way.
The connection to the site is encrypted, and passwords are stored encrypted. The database is set up so each player can only see what they are allowed to see, and only we have access to the rest.
07Your rights
You have the right to access the information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. In certain cases you also have the right to have the processing restricted, to receive your information in a machine-readable format (data portability), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. If you withdraw your consent to news, this doesn't affect the processing that happened before.
On your profile you can get a copy of your information yourself with "Download my data", change your username and avatar, and delete your account with "Delete my account". To use your other rights, write to hello@piratbridge.dk.
You can complain to Datatilsynet (the Danish Data Protection Agency), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, dt@datatilsynet.dk, datatilsynet.dk.
